As our recreational interest grow and we are drawn to more and more equipment to help us enjoy these interest; we find ourselves in a difficult position. How do we take our recreational equipment to it's destination in a useful, versatile and fuel-efficient vehicle that allows us to camp. The answer is, the Vrv design.
Combining the cargo and toy-hauling attributes of a cargo trailer with the expandable square footage of our tip out, self-supporting bunks, the Vrv allows you haul all the equipment your family can use and still camp comfortably without having to trade to a larger, less fuel-efficient tow vehicle. Another feature of our design is that it allows you carry all your recreational equipment and still stop for that quick night's rest along the way without having to unload it. Also, once you have reached your destination and you have unloaded your equipment, you can enjoy all of the open floor space without having to work around traditional beds that reduce this useful living area space.
Another thing you might want to consider. If you own a larger less fuel-efficient vehicle and are considering downsizing to something smaller and more economical the Vrv can serve another useful purpose; that of a cargo trailer. Nothing about the Vrv's design, construction or weight will keep you from using it as a cargo trailer when that you find yourself in need of one. Easy to maintain and clean the Vrv will not rust or rot if you need to wash it out after using it. Without steel to rust or wood to rot it will last longer and protect your investment better than traditionally constructed trailers.
When you compare us against other RV designs toy-haulers you will find that:
- we are lighter weight, less expensive and easier to maintain than larger toy-hauling travel trailers and fifth wheels,
-we are as light weight and inexpensive, more versatile and longer lasting than pop-up campers, and
- we are more comfortable, longer lasting, lighter weight and as inexpensive as comparably equipped steel and wood cargo trailers.
All of this means that you get more use with fewer concerns from your investment in both your recreational equipment and the trailer you use to move it. Welcome to Vrv.
Why All-Aluminum Construction is Important
The recreational vehicle and cargo trailer industries have been manufacturing heavy steel constructed towable toy-haulers and trailers for decades. While they may be using some aluminum in areas such as the sidewalls and ceilings, the fact is, the foundation of most traditional towable trailers is constructed out of heavy and corrosive steel. In fact, it is not atypical to find a significant amount of rust on brand new RV's and trailers. At Livin' Lite , aluminum is utilized to construct the entire structure of the Vrv from tongue to ramp door. The entire frame; floor; sidewalls; exterior skin; bunk construction and even the cabinetry is constructed of lightweight and durable aluminum. Aluminum processes notable advantages over steel and wood, such as lightening the overall weight of trailers to make for easier towing, it does not corrode like steel, it is not affected by water like wood, and it significantly increases the resale value of the coach, protecting the owner's investment. The Quicksilver Vrv is constructed to withstand the rigors of use and the test of time, unlike any other toy-hauler RV or cargo trailer on the market!
Facts about Aluminum verses Steel as utilized for the foundation of trailers:
- Aluminum can reduce the overall load weight by 35-40 percent over steel and wood, making it much easier and safer to tow.
- Aluminum maximizes resale values because it lasts longer and minimizes costly repairs due to rust, rot and corrosion.
- Aluminum trailers require less power to tow which increases your tow vehicle's performance and fuel efficiency.
- Aluminum maintains its strength and form for decades even after being exposed to water.
All of these facts mean your investment in aluminum construction will pay big dividends over the life of your Quicksilver Vrv.
How the Vrv is Constructed
The Quicksilver Vrv's extremely durable all-aluminum construction features absolutely NO WOOD or STEEL in the floor, frame, cabinets or exterior. Modeled after the lightweight aluminum structure made popular in the aerospace industry, the Vrv features lightweight aluminum construction throughout, including the tongue and groove aluminum flooring. So, unlike traditional cargo toy-haulers constructed of steel and plywood products - which can rust and rot out in just a few camping seasons, the Quicksilver Vrv is made to stand the test of time and stretch your vacation fuel budget. The Vrv is able to boast about being one of the lightest, most durable camping cargo toy-haulers due to innovative construction methods and the use of aluminum and vinyl laminated materials in place of the heavy wood products and steel used by other toy-hauler manufacturers.
Shown to the right is the skeleton of one of our Quicksilver Vrv Camping Cargo Trailers framed with welded aluminum studs and aluminum floor planking. Unlike steel framed sidewalls that are heavier and can rust, aluminum construction will stand up to moisture and last for decades with minimum maintenance.
Have you ever towed a trailer in the rain? As you travel down a wet highway, your tires lift up and spray water soaking the trailer's exterior and underside. If the floor is made of steel and wood, popular construction materials in most trailers, exposure like this can cause warping, rust and decay. The Quicksilver Vrv's interlocking aluminum planks, welded to an aluminum frame, will not deteriorate. In fact, you can use a hose and mop to clean the Vrv's floor inside and out without causing damage to it. Also, without steel the Vrv cannot be affected by winter salts or coastline weather allowing us to offer a limited lifetime warranty against rust.
In the 7' and 8.5' wide Vrv models with living quarters the kitchen and bathroom areas are constructed of aluminum framed and lined walls and cabinets, which wear well and clean up easily. In the kitchen the countertop and sink is a molded composite that resembles gray granite. You can spill and splatter without worries. This kitchen is built to withstand the wear and tear of camping. The dinette table is follows with the rest of the Vrv's versatility. Set it up between your bunks as an indoor dining table, next to the kitchen area for an additional meal prep area, or move it outdoors and use it as a cook surface or buffet table. The tables are made of the same molded composite as the countertop and sink, reinforced with a steel frame. In the Vrv's bathroom area the all aluminum construction means not only will you not find any steel or wood products to rust or rot, but also without organic materials in this area mold and bacteria should not become a health issue. What does this type of construction mean? It means savings. Savings in maintenance costs, down time for repairs and general wear and tear. It will also protect your Vrv's resale value.
Other toy-hauling cargo trailers offer limited exterior colors. The Quicksilver Vrv aluminum exterior offers a number of exciting colors and graphics, highlighted by bright diamond-plated aluminum fronts and trim. With aluminum mag wheels bolted to torsion alxes the sporty exterior look of the Vrv goes great with today's exciting automotive designs and colors.
As you can see, Livin' Lite has made the Quicksilver Vrv durable with quality materials and construction that holds up against deterioration and failure. And never forget, the Vrv's design provides you with a world of options as to how your camping cargo trailer and its' components can be used.
